It is with much sadness that we relay to you news of the passing of our father, Carl Whelchel on December 20, 2007. He remained in fairly good health until last Saturday when he was taken to the hospital with congestive heart failure.
A memorial service will be held at the chapel of Hughes and Wright Funeral Home in Cordele on December 29 with burial at the Whelchel plot at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele.
